Jillian Anawaty, owner
Yoga & Pilates Teacher
Jillian owns Vibrant Life Yoga & Pilates in Rapid City, offering private and therapeutic sessions and workshops. A devoted student of yoga, Jillian began practicing with her now husband in 2006. Since, she's studied with a wide range of teachers in many styles and offers gratitude to the grace of all paths. Her professional training includes YTT with certified Anusara yoga teacher BJ Galvan, comprehensive mat and Reformer Pilates through STOTT Pilates, and many intensives and workshops with various other teachers and styles. She continues to study and pursue training to enhance her personal practice, most notably inspired by non-dual tantra.
Jillian learns from each person she shares these practices with and is deeply honored to share in this journey of health, healing and life. She loves conversation, dancing, mysticism, plants, delicious food and sunshine.
We encourage fellow journeyers to connect with the spark that is most vital and true within. Tapping into this current of love, bringing it into embodied experience, and inevitably radiating it back into the community. This is what the “vibrant” in Vibrant Life Yoga & Pilates is all about.
Each of our teachers (more like guides, really) has their own unique experiences and training that they teach from. Each "guide" authentically engages their own practice and the principles they offer in classes. They take the seat of teacher, student and fellow journeyer, and we all grow together as we share the path. Won't you join us?
Jillian Shupe's yoga practice began circa 2008. She finished her 200 hour yoga teacher certification through Blossom Yoga in Laramie, WY in 2014.
Yoga came into her life as a means to stretch and move her body in low impact ways, but recently yoga has become so much more. In exploring the larger scope of this practice, Jillian found ways to acknowledge herself as "an individual not in need of fixing, but instead as a whole and complete person in need of connection with my authentic self."
When Jillian takes her seat as Yoga Teacher, she does so saying, that "each of us is our greatest teacher, and no one can tell you what is best for you. The real journey begins when you realize the truth is inside yourself, all you have to do is find it, and that’s where yoga comes in."
Carly has a rich background in health and human development. She graduated with a BS in Health Sciences in 2005 from the University of Wyoming, integrating a range of therapeutic approaches to health and human function, then went on to obtain her Master’s degree in occupational therapy from Pacific University of Oregon. In addition to sharing her love of yoga at Vibrant Life, Carly works full time with as an Occupational Therapist.
Since moving to Rapid City she's been a beloved regular at Vibrant Life. In 2014 Carly completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Blossom Yoga Studio in Laramie, Wyoming under the tutelage of Emily Brown, Jess Ryan and Stephanie Long. This dynamic training taught the value of “going with the flow” via classic yoga texts and lessons for a modern yoga teacher. Carly is proud to offer holistic classes combining a focus on health and stress reduction for persons of all abilities.
In addition to her weekly holistic Pilates classes, Jerilyn also offers nutritional counseling, energy work and essential oil treatments at Vibrant Life.

Sophie is a student at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology studying Civil Engineering with Environmental Emphasis. She began her yoga journey in 2013 to help reduce the constant pain from her severe scoliosis. She immediately felt the emotional changes that yoga had on her and soon later had less back pain. In April of 2016 Sophie traveled to Rishikesh, India which is supposed to be where yoga was born.
Under Yogi Chetan Mahesh's yoga school she completed her 200 hours of yoga teacher training which included classes for Meditation, Pranayama, Ashtanga Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Philosophy, and Anatomy & Physiology. She hopes to use her yoga knowledge to teach people how to balance their muscles, nervous system, and organs by tuning in to their breath, mind, and body.

“My first yoga experience was a VHS tape featuring well known actress. Yoga started as a physical practice to stretch my aching runner’s body in 2011. This journey down the yoga path was lit by Deb Wolff and got brighter with Doc Savage. Now I aspire to be a light for others in their journey and share the blessings I continue to receive.”
Charon lives in Wall, SD with her husband Nick. She is loves to kayak, bike, hike, run, trap shoot, cook and eat!

You won’t find butterflies and unicorns floating around in his vocabulary, but instead simple truth, unconditional love, and suggestions on how to listen, be gentle and love one’s self. With a deep relaxing voice that calms the mind and soothes the soul, he has the ability to hold any space with laughter and his simple words of wisdom. All while guiding you into a strong focus of the breath in a moving mediation. Remember the only person that can hold you down is yourself, so move forward every day with a smile creating the positive evolution the world desires.
My yoga journey began in the late 90’s thanks to my mom and a Rodney Yee VHS. My practice was erratic to say the least, months would pass between times on the mat but something kept pulling me back. The yoga magic was in my blood, working it’s way through body and mind until the time was right and a daily practice was born. Secretly I began dreaming of being a yoga teacher but like most moms I pushed that dream to the back of my mind until finally it pushed back. Proudly, I graduated from yoga teacher training at The Black Hills Yoga School in December of 2016 with the support and love of my husband and kids.
For me, yoga is everything. It’s the way we move on the mat, uniting breath and body. It’s the way we interact with the people and moments in our life. My goal as a yoga teacher is to help people find connection within themselves and to each other, to continue delving into the mystery and magic of yoga, and to keep seeking, learning, and sharing. Namaste!
